The midrivers project
Taking as its foundation a hypothetical space colony, groups of SL residents debated some of the problems faced by such an edifice and its inhabitants.  Some built exhibitions of a variety of solutions, both historical designs and their own.  The project had as its strap-line ‘Thinking outside the planet for the planet’, because solving the problems of what was in effect a microcosm of Earth could guide thinking for the Earth itself.
Today, the project is being revived in a slightly different form.  The space colony theme is still there, but the build is now on Kitely.  Most importantly, one of the new and major aims is to assist those who are learning English, with an emphasis on high level scientific and technical language.

Courage to Encourage – Origin Story Lessons
Every student superhero has a catalyst that changes their lives and is the incentive to improve themselves and the world around them. Discover students' origin stories and principal motivation to turn passion into positive projects and promote partnerships. Virtual worlds foster flexible, imaginative play to reveal and utilize students' individual stories. Create a safe learning environment where this vulnerable intersection transforms into a lesson of confidence, compassion, and connections with other superheroes. After exploring the events and elements of their influential story, implement transmedia storytelling through multimedia, blogs, social networks, and virtual world engagement to support student centered success and unique learning styles while inspiring universal listening, inquiry, and teambuilding.--Renne Emiko Brock-Richmond / Zinnia Zauber

How to handle a Hypergrid address

From any Hypergrid-enabled grid, paste the address into the navigation bar of Firestorm and press enter. Or paste it into the world map search bar of any viewer, search, and click Teleport when the destination is found. If it doesn't work, don't give up. Try again in a minutes.  Sometimes the first try fails (probably times out).  And try again a few hours later. Some hypergrid destinations are offline part of the day.
